IP & Remake Rights Portfolio

MEET ME IN CAIRO

In Development

Meet Me In Cairo is an IP for either a feature film or a limited drama series, based on the true story of master spy Wolfgang Lotz. A German national, Lotz worked on behalf of the Israeli government as a double-agent living in Egypt in the mid-1960s.

Our proprietary assets include three screenplays (two in English, one in German), two written by Lotz himself in 1987, a 16-minute video interview with Lotz and an extensive audio debriefing, both conducted in 1987. The audio comprises over 6 hours of content (audio files and transcripts available).

An incredible “Mr & Mrs Spy” story, Meet Me in Cairo has it all. A handsome, reckless, high-society spy who breaks all the rules by falling in love with a beautiful young blonde on the Orient Express. Glamorous European locations (Munich, Paris, Geneva), as well as primary locations in 1960s-era Cairo, Jerusalem, and Tel-Aviv. Nazi expatriate scientists helping the Egyptian army with advanced missile technology. All culminating in the Arab-Israeli 6-Day War.

We are currently looking to partner with a blue-chip production company with experience in period dramas, and with bonafide relationships with commissioning executives at global streaming platforms. We have had serious discussions with several major players in recent years and even spent two years negotiating an agreement with a major Israeli studio, but the project was ultimately not optioned, and we are back in the marketplace. At present, our concept will have Lotz tell his own story, in his own voice.

Croisette Films has been in high-level negotiations with several major drama producers and distributors, including Netflix Germany and Keshet (Israel) to produce the series, however the Israel-Gaza War has placed all discussions on hold for the forseeable future.

THE DONKEY KING

Completed

In 2018, The Donkey King was the highest-grossing animation film in Pakistan’s box-office history. The 3D animated film was directed by Aziz Jindani. It was released in Pakistan by Geo Films and Talisman Studios and became the first Pakistani film to be dubbed into seven languages for multiple international releases. The film was re-versioned from Urdu into English by Janson Media. Because of the global Coronavirus pandemic, the company had to cancel the planned July 2020 theatrical release in the United States, instead launching the film as a Direct-to-VOD release in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom and Australia.

Janson Media secured social media influencers Kenny Knox and Mark Dohner to voice the two leading characters in the film. The film’s U.S. Premiere Video-on-Demand (PVOD) release was July 3rd, 2020. Additional platform rollouts coincided with the presidential elections between September 7th and the U.S. presidential election in early November, and today the film is still available on most AVOD platforms in the United States and other English-speaking countries.

The Donkey King tells the story of an aging Lion King of the jungle city of Azad Nagar who prepares to retire and anoint his son the Prince as his successor. But a conspiracy of evil-doers have other plans, and when the inhabitants of the jungle city rise up to insist on democratic elections, a poor donkey, Mangu, is elected as the new king. But things are just getting interesting in this hilarious animated film for the whole family.
